Plaza of a Thousand Columns

One of the more imposing monuments in Chichen Itza in Mexico. Luckily the crowds were small and lighting in my favor.

Favourites

I have a LOT of favorites, however please do not interpret this to mean that I have a fast trigger finger. This general gallery reveals the different aspects of my personality- whether it is my love of B&W photography or my affinity for fan art, it is all present in here. But because there are so many, I have further categorized them into thematic groups. A few of my favorite categories are featured below. :)

Absolute Favorites

There are a lot of deviations that I have :+fav: and I admire each one of them. However because I do have such a large selection favorited, I have separated them by categories for the most part. This particular collection features works that have really captured my imagination or I feel reflect something I hold dear. Very often I use these images as inspiration for my writings.

Random Bursts of Color in Nature

Best of Black and White

I LOVE black and white photography. Since I have been on DA there have been a number brilliant photographs that I have found. I have a penchant for B&W landscapes and architecture however the deviants included in this gallery often have a more diversified portfolio. If you feel like visiting this gallery I urge you to also visit the deviants individually.

Did you start reading the books I mentioned yet :) ?

Yes! :) I found Wizard's First Rule, but am only about fifty pages into it. It took me a while to find a copy strangely enough. Had to order it online. Probably since its a 1997 book. However it seems promising. :w00t:

Quick question though- during my search I found that in 2004 he wrote a sort of prequel called Debt of Bones. Should I have read that first or will it not matter as I go through the series?
    :iconzeddnl:
Its actually not a bad idea to skip it, its pretty weak overall and spoils tiny parts of later books.

    :icondarkmirror79:
    Good to know :)

I tend not to go for prequels written after an original series has already been published- it's almost as if the author is trying to go back and "fix" whatever mistakes or plot holes he made in the original book. :( And any extra information does ruin later book details.

Heard the same thing applies to the Ender's Game series where the author jumps around in time from book to book. Will see- that's my next literary project :D

Thank you so much for the :+fav:!

Most welcome. One of the things I love most in it is the lighting you used. Really atmospheric :)

Thanks for faving "Souvenir de", Bella! :D

"STREET" is great fun, but it's NOT pics of empty streets, your feet on the pavement, graffiti, traffic lights, ten poses of your girlfriend, or buildings without people. More info --> [link]

No problem. I always look forward to new deviations from you and am never disappointed.

It is a beautiful shot but what I admire most is how you developed it- the B&W gradient, the contrast, the accentuated shadows... it really does justice to all the intricate architectural details.

Thank you for the recent :+fav: by the way. Always appreciate you stopping by :)

Thanks for the fav, you have some great stuff on this page so im deffo going to keep an eye on it, also nice and diverse tastes you have for movies, books etc.

Did you happen to read Sword of the Truth series? (Except the kind of awkward stuff) its pretty decent.

You are most welcome. As soon as I saw it, it was an instant :+fav: I love that movie. You did a nice job with it. A lot of Inglourious Basterds deviations focus on one character, at most two- I really like the banner set up.

Thank you also for visiting my page and offering some feedback- it is always welcomed and appreciated. You mentioned the Sword of Truth series, but I have never heard of it. What is it about? And what do you mean awkward stuff?

Sorry for not replying right away- haven't been as active recently :(
    :iconzeddnl:
The Writer seems to have some issues/sexual frustration because about 1/10th of the book is mentioning rape or flasbacks to mentions of rape(this is book 3 to 7 or so, after that it stops); if you can read over it its a solid enough series.

I just finished reading a general synopsis of the series. I have heard of Terry Goodkind but have never picked up a book by him. Which is strange considering my taste in books. Will definitely give it a chance. Thank you for the recommendation.
